Operating Manual
This manual describes how Risontis operates and how to read its screens. It is not optimization guidance and not trading advice.
1. Read your dashboard
Trading Capital is a deployment limit
Trading Capital is the maximum amount of account equity Risontis may use when sizing the portfolio. Risontis uses the lower of current equity and the configured Trading Capital limit, so equity growth is deployed automatically only up to that ceiling. Trading Capital is not a starting balance, performance target or drawdown reference, and changing it affects portfolio sizing at the next governed rebalance without depositing, withdrawing or moving funds.
The × notation
Gross exposure is shown as a multiple of your current equity, so 0.4× means the combined size of all positions is 40% of your equity. Your risk profile sets the target gross exposure of your governed capital: Defensive 1.00×, Balanced 1.50×, Growth 1.89×.
The profile also sets a fixed exchange leverage for every position, Defensive 2× and Balanced and Growth 3×, which determines the margin and liquidation buffer rather than the position size. When margin protection scales the book down, the dashboard shows the actual deployed multiple next to the profile target.
Net beta
The portfolio holds longs and shorts that balance each other by market sensitivity rather than by euro amounts, so the two sides are intentionally unequal in euros. Healthy is a net beta close to zero, within the ±0.15 band.
Drawdown now and Max drawdown
Drawdown now is how far equity currently sits below its own peak and recovers when equity climbs, while Max drawdown is the deepest such dip in the shown period and therefore only deepens or stays.
Safety status
NORMAL means the latest Safety checks passed. WATCH or BREACH needs your attention. UNKNOWN means Risontis could not prove the check, and is never treated as a pass.
Conformance checks
Each check proves one property of the last cycle: neutrality, drift, turnover, costs, funding presence and audit trail. PENDING means the check is awaiting the first full cycle of data, and UNKNOWN means the property could not be proven, which the system fails closed and treats as not healthy rather than as a pass.
2. Understand your money and currency
Why euro figures move when nothing traded
The contracts quote and settle in USD while your reporting is in euros at official ECB day rates, so currency conversion differences can show up in the breakdowns. They never distort your Equity figure itself.
The two funding figures
The main funding figure is frozen at the last rebalance and is labelled “up to last rebalance”, while the separate “since rebalance” figure ticks during the current period. They are two windows on purpose and are never added together.
Realized results, unrealized results and returns
Realized P&L is banked by closed trades and Unrealized P&L floats with open positions. The return percentage is time-weighted, so it measures the engine independently of your deposits, and around a deposit or withdrawal the percentage and the euro amount can even differ in sign because they answer different questions.
Deposits and withdrawals are priced into the return carefully, and when a transfer cannot be priced yet the affected return shows as pending rather than a wrong number. The Total-return tile is window-bound, so its euro twin equals end minus start minus transfers over that same window, and Realized P&L counts from the measurement start of this installation rather than your account’s lifetime history, while your equity figure is always the whole truth.
Why the three panels do not add up
Three panels report your results, each through a different lens:
- Monthly returns — percentages per calendar month, time-weighted; follows equity, so open profit is included.
- Cycle results — euros per 3-day cycle, boundary to boundary; open profit is included and the newest cycle is still in progress.
- Realized P&L — euros since measurement start; banked results only, so open profit is excluded.
Different windows, different units, and only Realized P&L excludes open profit, so the numbers do not add up across panels. Behind the scenes every figure is reconciled against the same measured equity: three honest views, not three bookkeepings.
3. Control trading and reduce exposure
The trading switch
Switching trading OFF prevents Risontis from opening new positions or increasing existing ones. It never closes existing positions, and reduce-only actions remain available. Switching trading ON again allows normal operation to resume on the next cycle tick; on an empty book, Risontis builds the portfolio.
Rolling safety brakes
Risontis checks the decline from the recent account peak over rolling 1-day, 7-day and 30-day windows before it increases risk. The limits belong to your selected Risk profile and are shown in Settings under Trading & risk profile.
When a brake is hit, Risontis blocks new or increased positions but does not automatically close anything, and reduce-only actions such as trimming exposure or Close All remain available. If the required safety evidence cannot be proven, Risontis also refuses to increase risk.
How to close everything
The safe order is to switch trading OFF first and then use Close All Positions in Operations. Close All is reduce-only and works with trading on or off at any point in the cycle, closing every position Risontis can prove it owns, and with trading OFF the book then stays flat until you deliberately re-enable it.
If any position carries foreign evidence, nothing is closed. That is the fail-closed response, and in that rare case you close on the exchange directly.
Force Rebalance is not a de-risk tool
Force Rebalance rebuilds the portfolio and resets the 3-day cycle cadence, so it opens positions. To reduce exposure, use Close All.
4. Handle notices and incidents
Dismiss, close and exposure are three different things
Dismissing a notice only hides the message, and closing an incident, which is done in Operations with a typed confirmation, only closes the incident record. Neither touches your positions: exposure changes only through Close All or through the exchange itself.
A persisting condition may reopen a new incident on the next scan.
The “Liquidation incident” label
This incident family also fires when positions can no longer be proven as Risontis-owned, so it does not always mean an actual liquidation happened. The banner is the honest fail-closed reaction, and the Audit pane carries the details.
